A perfect story for the pages of a novel, told through the wedding photos at Villa Cimbrone. It is the tale of Veronica and Gregory, a couple I had the honor of photographing a few days ago at Villa Cimbrone, in the splendid Ravello. Their story is unique and touching, a testament to the power of love.
Veronica and Gregory had known each other since they were kids. However, their relationship was limited to a few polite greetings. Gregory, even back then, was convinced she would become a beautiful woman. But he didn’t want to “ruin” this acquaintance in any way. So, their lives went on, following different paths that subtly brushed against each other, until they indelibly crossed in 2019.
In June of that year, Veronica decided to go to California for a vacation. It was there that destiny played its game and made them meet again almost by chance. It was a meeting that seemed to quickly rewind the tape of memories, while everything around them faded away. At that moment, time seemed to stop in palpable awkwardness. Neither of them found the courage to say a single word. It took an entire dinner, and the complicity of brothers and cousins, to break the ice.
The next day, Veronica was supposed to go back home. But when destiny intervenes, there’s not much you can do. Other plans were in store for them: flight canceled and no possibility of returning home any other way. To Gregory, the opportunity seemed served on a silver platter: he invited her to stay until the 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day. Veronica, initially hesitant, was quickly convinced. A small indecision turned into an entire month of staying.
An unforgettable period, which like in the best stories, had to end: Veronica was forced to return to Italy for personal reasons. But the call of love was too strong, and so it took only one week to return to California into Gregory’s arms. They spent three wonderful months together, building unforgettable memories. Since then, except for a short period of two months, they haven’t been apart.
And in less than five years, they decided to crown their dream in the splendid Ravello, the jewel of the Amalfi Coast. They were hosted by Villa Cimbrone, where they were able to say yes in a simply perfect ceremony, with the sun and the sea of the Coast as a backdrop to every moment. Every shot of that day captured their happiness, their complicity, and the love that binds them.
Their story seems like the plot of a movie, perhaps driven by the help of a guardian angel, Veronica’s mother, who has been watching over them from above. I am grateful to have been able to capture such a pure and sincere love. This wedding was a reminder of how destiny can play an incredible role in our lives.
Veronica and Gregory, I wish you a life full of joy and love. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your story. And to you, dear readers, I hope this story has inspired you as much as it inspired me.
I leave you with some shots in the dedicated page of wedding photos at Villa Cimbrone of Gregory and Veronica.
